SECTION 2: HARDWARE OVERVIEW AND SETUP
6. Reinstall the DVD mounting bracket with the DVD drive in the chassis using the four screws removed earlier.
7. Plug a SATA power cable from the cable bundle into the mating connector of the DVD drive.
8. Plug a SATA data cable to the back of the DVD drive. Plug the other end of the cable into a SATA connector on the PC board.
NOTE
SATA data interfaces on the PC board are labeled HDD1, HDD2, HDD3, etc. Not all are connectorized. Always use the lowest
numbered connectorized SATA data interfaces for the HDD drives in the DVR, and a higher numbered connector for the DVD drive.
For example, if HDD1 is not connectorized, but HDD2, HDD3 and HDD4 are, and two HDD drives are (or will be) installed in the
DVR, use HDD2 for the primary HDD drive, HDD3 for the secondary HDD drive, and HDD4 for the DVD-R/W drive. Connector labels
are marked on the PC board.
In the following example, HDD1 is not connectorized, an HDD drive data cable is plugged into HDD2, and the DVD-R/W drive
data cable is plugged into HDD3.
